What do merchants need to do to support ActiveCheckout? Merchants do not have to change their websites in order to support ActiveCheckout form-filling. Merchants need to become MasterCard SPA compliant to accept authenticated MasterCard SPA transactions and 3-D Secure compliant in order to support Verified by Visa transactions. When will merchants be able to start supporting MasterCard SPA? From April 2002 when UCAF is mandated on MasterCard's Banknet and the merchant receives notification that their Internet payment gateway supports transfer of the Accountholder Authentication Value (AAV) to their acquirer.
When will merchants be able to start supporting Verified By Visa? As soon as they install a 3-D Secure merchant module, such as ActiveMerchant, and can receive a certificate from their acquirer.
